The perfect healthy, clean cut is achieved using 3 simple steps. First, cut through the bark from the bottom of the branch using the underhand position. Then use the straight position, or pistol grip for extra leverage, to cut through the branch a few inches from your first underhand cut. Finish by cutting off the remaining piece of branch between the trunk and the underhand cut.
